About the Author

Peter Matthiessen is the winner of 3 national book awards. Peter Matthiessen is known for his writing in nonfiction, nature writing, and travel writing. At the age of 81, he received a National Book Award for Fiction for his book, Shadow Country. His work At Play In The Fields Of The Lord and the short story Travelin' Man have been adopted into motion films. Peter Matthiessen died in 2012, aged 86, at his home in Sagaponak due to leukemia.
